Diogo Laranjeira is the name behind Funkey Monkey, a youthful Dj based in Lisbon, Portugal. Diogo has always loved music, finding his roots in Rock and Pop Rock, he has expressed that love by learning how to play guitar on his teenage years. Some years later in 2017, as he moved to the capital and listened to Psytrance for the first time, he has had an experience that he will never forget. Since then he has found a deep connection with the groove and abstract timbres of Psytrance. His journey as an artist started soon after in 2018, as he was curious on how these psychedelic timbres and tonalities were achieved, so he got into some basic music production and later found a passion for Djing. By the end of 2018 he had released his first Dj-Set and in a year moved from playing in clubs to, alternative stages at outdoor parties and finally at Crystal Matrix's main stage of Trance Odyssey 2019/20 New Years Eve party.
